What made you start your own business?
I always wanted to have a fashion line because while growing up I was always into fashion and I always wanted to start it but as I was styling I never got the opportunity to do so.
When did you start your business?
I started my fashion line in April 2014 because that’s when I had the time and opportunity to. But after that somehow I took a two-year gap and restarted my business in 2017.
How is your shoe business different from any other shoe business?
What sets my business apart are the designs and use of patterns and colours.
What are the challenges you face?
In a business, there are always ups and downs and you always must be prepared for unexpected challenges which may come in any form. How did you think of this brand?
In 2014 I just went with the flow and designing school just came naturally to me. I didn’t have a structured plan in mind but it just came super naturally to me. I also studied fashion designing in Canada.
Where did you get the inspiration from?
I travel quite a bit, so while travelling or visiting art galleries is where I get my inspiration from.
Do you look up to anyone?
Yeah, so many shoe designers like Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo. And also, our products are vegan so I look up to Stella McCartney because she makes vegan products.
Any tips for young female entrepreneurs?
I would just want to tell them to just go with it and if they think of something they should do it now and not keep postponing it because then it might never work out. Do it now, or it’s never going to happen.
